SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL/ELAC

The School Site Council (SSC) annually reviews and updates the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and approves categorical funding such as Title I (Federal Funds) and English Learner program funding. The Council is also charged with reviewing school policies and providing input to the principal on school programs.
The English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) assists in assessing, planning, and organizing the educational goals for English Language Learners.

School Site Council Bylaws
 
The purpose of ELAC is to advice the principal and staff on programs and services for EL students. Each California public school from K-12 must form a functional English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The ELAC committee is for parents and other community members who want to advocate for English Learners. 
 
The committee reviews and comments on the following:
The school's program for English Learners
The school's needs assessment 
Elects at least one member to DELAC
Elects a representative for the School Site Council
