Join a Sport

San Gorgonio Middle School understands student athletics and clubs are an important way for children to build healthy habits, learn social skills, and gain a sense of purpose.

Offered Sports

We encourage students to explore a variety of sports offered at Mountain View Middle School, which includes:

How to Join a Sports Team

While athletics is a major benefit for students, it is also a privilege. This means specific requirements must be met before a student may try-out for a sport. To begin, all students must submit the required forms via HomeCampus.com each school year prior to the first tryout of their sport.

Minimal Athlete Requirements

Student athletes must meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA.
  • Be in good academic standing with all classes.
  • If a student receives a failing grade, they may be eligible if they have a 3.0 overall GPA, however, the athlete will NOT play in games.
  • Provide proof of a "sports physical" by a licensed medical provider (Valid for one year)
  • Ineligible students may continue to participate in practices, however, they may not travel with the team for away games.
  • Coaches will do two grade checks per season (Once at start of season and once at mid-point).

Health Insurance is Required.
All athletic student participants must have health insurance. Please complete the emergency information in your student's athletic packet by including the policy number.

The California Department of Education's Athletes' Bill of Rights guarantees that students have the right to participate free from sex discrimination, with equitable access to facilities, equipment, coaching, and funding. State laws mandate strict safety protocols, but inherent risks remain. If you have a specific question or concern, please contact us.
