Softball

Please remember that academic grades and behavior checks will continue for all student athletes until the conclusion of our season. We want student athletes who are motivated to represent SGMS with strong character, good behavior, and serious focus on academic success. Thank you.

TRYOUTS:

Girls - 10/16/23, 10/17/23 and 10/19/23 3:20pm-5pm. Meet at the softball field.

Boys: - 09/27/23 and 10/04/23 2:30pm-4pm. Meet at the softball field.

PRACTICES:

Reminder that all student athletes must submit a COMPLETE Athletic Registration Packet to Coach Sanchez (girls) or Coach Lopez (boys) before participating in practices or games. Complete Athletic Packets must include a sports physical signed by a physician. Athletic Packets may be found on the SGMS website (see "Athletics --> Athletic Forms" tab), in Office B, or you may get one from one of the softball coaches.

Boys softball practices will begin on Wednesday 10/11/23 from 2:30-4pm and will be on every Wednesday.

Girls softball practices will begin on Monday 10/23/23 from 3:15-5pm. Other dates for the girls practices will be 10/24, 10/26, 10/27, 10/30 and 10/31 3:15-5pm.

GAME SCHEDULE:

All game times will start at 3:30 PM and last approximately 1 hour.

11/7/23 vs Nicolet @ San G- girls- no game, boys 3:30pm

11/16/23 (Postponed due to rain) 11/29/23 vs Mesa View @ Mesa View 800 Mustang Way- girls 3:30pm, boys 3:30pm

TRANSPORTATION (Away Games) :

Students should check in to their last period of the day and will be excused from class by 2:15 PM on days that we have away games. Our goal is to have all players at our "away" destination by 3:00 PM so that we have time to warm up and stretch before the start of the game. Safe arrival is always a priority over arriving on-time, especially for farther destinations.

Softball players are expected to arrange their own transportation to and from away games.
